Whole Half

Wrapped up in my own world
Never could I see the sun, shine

The fragrance of flowers
Never traveled my way
Though habitat, eons array

Nothing musing my way
As I lived in trance, murking my way

Eyes open wide
Colors in front of these eyes
Named them I correct
Red blue and white

Met mesmerizing eyes
Never could hold their light
Pass them by
Cerebrating their chimera

Love came my way
Though it was a sigh
Shared a cuppa coffee
Thanking it for restoring
My dilapidated shape

Travel I further in such of taste
Tried the mud, too bitter for the taste

Life motioned ahead
Landscape austere by side
Transforming boundaries
Divergent I decide

Defeated by age
Crawled my way
Conserving the energy
For the alchemy way

Failing safe, finally
Questioned God
Where in life is

Harmony in wind
Happiness in air
Limitless strength
Unbounded joy
Non-judgmental love
Unconditional smile

“Look behind”, he said
with a curved line

The evolutionary fact
flash across my eyes

I could see the choices I had

I chose
Smoke over warmth
Desk over open arms
Future over the moment
Loneliness over friends
Work over family
Clock against the time
Death over life

Reeling my life
In the debris of
The volcanic ash
